Who is she?
Teacher of Pilates and
Yamuna / Dancer / Choreographer
In the
spring of 2007, Susan was honored and asked to join the faculty of The Ron
Fletcher Program of Study (TRFPOS); an Arizona corporation and licensed
school. Her studio, The Core Center, is the ONLY facility on the east
coast of the United States to offer this Pilates teaching certification.
Susan will be teaching and disseminating "the Ron Fletcher work" ™, along
with visiting qualified teachers from around the world.
Recognizing a need to expand and disseminate the teachings of Joe Pilates
and Ron Fletcher further, and still maintain the standards and high
qualities already established, TRFPOS saw in Susan Fox an opportunity and
means to accomplish their goal and expand the school beyond the boundaries
of Tucson Arizona. The school syllabus and teaching certificates will
continue to come from and be granted by The Ron Fletcher Program of Study
and continue to be taught by highly qualified teachers.
On May 25th, 2006, Susan was presented her Level
II certification in "the Ron
Fletcher work" ™. from Ron Fletcher, and
TRFPOS Directors Pat Guyton and Kyria Sabin. The Level II certification required, monthly
commutes to Arizona (away from family and business for many long weekends),
two 10 day intensives, and 2000+ hours of intense physical training,
written, performance, and teaching examinations, case studies, and a
continuous education in anatomy & physiology. The final exam required
a 15 minute choreographed performance piece with 2 other highly educated
TRFPOS teachers (Bryala & Mary Pinzone). This videotaped
performance piece is on file with TRFPOS. Susan is both proud and honored to receive
this ULTIMATE
certification!
On June 27th, 2004, Susan was presented her
Level I certification in "the Ron
Fletcher work" ™. at
Body Works Studio in Tucson
Arizona from Master Teacher Pat Guyton and Senior Teacher Kyria Sabin in the
presence of Ron Fletcher - what a way to cap a
fantastic 10 day intensive! During the beginning of her studies with TRFPOS, in October of 2003,
Susan earned her 1st certification from TRFPOS. This
certificate gave her a limited license to teach "The Ron
Fletcher Towel Work" ™. This certification was
qualified by physical training and passing both written & oral examinations.
Susan is
attempting to provide an avenue which fosters the growth of the arts through
the art of movement by teaching Pilates. Susan wants her clients to have a
better life through Pilates and have FUN in the process. Susan
asks that everyone try "The
Core Basics" Introductory to Pilates Class and if they do; she feels they will not be disappointed!
Pilates will strengthen the core of your body; as an exercise
system that focuses on improving strength for the total body without
building bulk.
The Core
Center is a
fully equipped
Pilates studio offering individual and group classes.; whose
equipment includes: Reformers, Cadillac, Barrels, Ped-a-Pul's, Chairs (Combo
& Wunda), Fletcher Towel™, Magic Circles,
Fletcher Floor™ and Mat.
Yamuna Body Rolling:
To compliment my Pilates and Dance training, during the summer of 2008, I
received a full license and certification in
my Yamuna Body Rolling (YBR) training at Yamuna
Studio in NYC. Yamuna Zake, the director of
Yamuna Studios
and creator of
Yamuna Body Logic (YBL)
and YBR is an innovator, body therapist and renowned teacher of the unique
concepts that she developed to help you realize your maximum natural
potential, freeing restrictions, easing pain and improving performance. “If
everyone knew how to care for their body, they could prevent many of the
structural problems that age us before our time” explains Yamuna Zake.
“Taking care of your body should be easy, and knowledge of how to do it
should be widely available.” As her clients and students have discovered,
when you have the knowledge and tools to keep your body pain-free and
flexible throughout life, you don’t experience the stiffness and
restrictions associated with aging.
Susan is
a licensed, certified, and
qualified
teacher of Pilates, a member of the Pilates Method Alliance (PMA), and a
faculty member of The Ron Fletcher Program of Study. Susan has 25+
years experience teaching movement, has choreographed 40+ shows, and has
30+ years dance experience.
Susan's dance education began when she was a young
child, first studying under the experienced eye of "Miss Pat", in Wilson PA
and for
many years was a student at the
Lehigh
Valley Ballet Guild under the direction of Mr. Alexi Ramov. From
there, Susan attended Point Park College in Pittsburgh, PA as a dance major.
Susan also auditioned for the world famous
Radio City Music Hall
Rockettes, only to have her hopes dashed when it was learned she was not
tall enough!
Susan considers herself a life student of dance and sees
herself
becoming a life student of Pilates (using 'the Ron Fletcher work' ™, methodology).
Susan is listed as a Qualified Fletcher Teacher
and faculty member on

Fletcher work" ™. website.
Susan is now fully certified, and
a
Program Faculty
Member for "the Ron
Fletcher work" ™. (The 1st in the Lehigh Valley!)
Susan most importantly a Mom to "7" wonderful children.
Current Training!
For Pilates:
Susan Fox has successfully completed "The Ron Fletcher Program of Study,
Level II" course of study and is now a Qualified Fletcher Teacher with
Full certification in
"the Ron
Fletcher work" ™. Susan is a Fully Licensed Program
Facilitator and faculty member with TRFPOS.
For Dance: You may find me "brushing-up" on my dance
training at Broadway Dance Center
in New York, NY, or at various other dance classes and
workshops throughout the US, enabling me to focus and keep up to date
with the latest dance techniques.
