Curriculum at The Core Center

We inspire excellence and professionalism in each generation of Fletcher Pilates® Teachers.

Summary

The Ron Fletcher Program of Study® is the most definitive, professional Pilates teacher training program of its kind, ensuring the consistency and continuity of the Fletcher Pilates® lineage. The only program endorsed by Pilates Master Ron Fletcher, this multi-dimensional Program of Study offers a comprehensive teaching program, an in-depth preparatory course, the Program Overview, as well as a variety of specialty courses of study.

Schools Mission

In body, breath, mind and spirit we preserve the inspired evolution of Body Contrology, the work of Joseph and Clara Pilates, as articulated by our Master Teacher, Ron Fletcher. As he mentored and taught us, so we will teach and mentor others in the physical transformation that leads from strength to balance to grace. We embody excellence and professionalism as guides on the journey that is the legacy of this work.

Fletcher Pilates® Program Overview

The Fletcher Pilates® Program Overview is based on Ron Fletcher's philosophy of "knowing movement in the body" and encourages experiencing each piece of movement in the program before learning to teach it. Our Program Overview is designed to cover all beginning/intermediate material included in the Program of Study. It is a 30-hour program, generally taught in 3 or 6-hour sessions. Participating in the Program Overview is the ideal way to prepare to enter the Comprehensive Program of study.

Comprehensive Program

The Ron Fletcher Program of Study® Comprehensive Program is designed to give participants a thorough understanding of the complete Fletcher lineage of the Pilates method and to instill an understanding of how to teach this work to others. The full range of Pilates apparatus and matwork is incorporated, as well as the signature Fletcher Floorwork®, Fletcher Towelwork®, Spine Corrector and Percussive Breath™ technique.

Preparing to Enter the Program

Prerequisite Hours

Because it is essential that participants learn and know the Fletcher Pilates® technique in their own bodies before attempting to learn to teach this work to others, students are required to complete at least 30 private and / or semi-private sessions, and 50 group class, seminar or workshop hours with a Qualified Fletcher Teacher, Facilitator or Faculty member before entering the Comprehensive Program of Study. The Fletcher Pilates® Program Overview (described herein and below) may count towards 36 of the required group class hours. The full prerequisite student process generally takes three to six months.

The Fletcher Pilates™ Program Overview
Our Program Overview is an optional preparatory course designed to give students an experiential overview of the Comprehensive Program, from the student point of view. Based on Ron Fletcher’s philosophy of “knowing movement in the body,” the Overview encourages experiencing each piece of movement before learning to teach it. Structured as a 30-hour program, generally taught in 3 or 6-hour sessions, this Program is the most efficient and affordable means of reviewing the beginning/intermediate Fletcher Pilates® syllabus.
